Winter blues

No thanks!

Winter doesn’t exactly offer us an abundance of sun and that sometimes affects our mood. We’ve put together a couple of tips for you, to help you stay happy – even when it’s stormy and snowy outside.

#1 GET OUT INTO THE FRESH AIR

A walk in the fresh air will bring some colour to your cheeks because it supplies the skin with oxygen and stimulates the circulation. And spending time in the fresh air not only gets your blood moving, it also helps you to soak up as much light as possible. Sunlight promotes the production of Vitamin D3 which has a positive effect on body and mind. And by the way, natural daylight is still three to four times more powerful than indoor lighting, even when the sky is cloudy and grey.

In winter, we often get too little sun which is why we can quickly start suffering from a deficiency of Vitamin D3 at this time of the year. Our BEYOND omega contains Vitamin D3 from alga extract. It plays a key role in countless processes in the human body and ensures a year-round supply of the sun vitamin.

#2 BRING COLOUR INTO YOUR LIFE

The sky is grey, bare tree branches are whipping around in the cold wind, and fog is cutting your line of sight. The way you’re dressed reflects nature’s sadness and you could actually say that you’re blending in with your environment. But it doesn’t have to be like that! We say: “Enough!” A bright scarf, a colourful woolly hat or gloves with a cheerful pattern will give your mood a huge boost and the compliments you’ll get will make you smile even more.

#3 STRUCTURE YOUR DAY

It’s very important to structure your day and stick to your daily rituals – particularly when it’s gloomy and cold outside – because the lack of daylight can really knock our body clocks off balance.

#4 CUDDLE UP AND BE HAPPY

Kissing and cuddling are the best things for lifting the mood. Why? Because touch activates certain hormones and neurotransmitters that have a positive effect on how we feel. Physical contact that lasts longer than 20 seconds releases the “love hormone” oxytocin and loads of endorphins. So enjoy being close to your partner or your children because it achieves real miracles when it’s damp and dreary outside.

#5 SPORT MAKES YOU FIT – AND HAPPY TOO

Sport haters, watch out! This info could make you change your mind. Sport and movement boost mental and physical well-being. So sport can make a vital contribution to feeling good, particularly in winter, helping you to get through the cold months without suffering from the winter blues. What’s really important for increasing your appetite for sport is to find one that you enjoy. Try out different sports and put together a plan. The more varied the better because variety also helps to get us motivated.

SPORT boost with fresh and fruity flavour ensures an optimal supply of liquid and lastingly replenishes glycogen stores with carbohydrates of different chain lengths. Whether you take it before, during or after sport, this isotonic solution gives the body what it needs for top performance.

#6 TREAT YOURSELF TO SOME QUALITY TIME

Live your day mindfully and take a few minutes just for yourself every day. Read a good book, cook something tasty or maybe work on a project that has been lying around for months. Create some quality time every day – to spend either by yourself or with your partner and the family. Just ignore your mobiles, laptops, the untidy house and your worries for a couple of hours. Make a bowl of punch, bake a cake, play a game or simply take the time to enjoy a cup of tea and a chat together. It doesn’t matter what you do together – the main thing is that you give each other your undivided attention.

The natural ingredients in CAPS moodoo improve mental resilience and provide greater serenity. Ideal for restoring emotional balance if you’re battling with the autumn and winter blues or PMS.

#7 LAUGH YOURSELF HAPPY

Ever heard that saying? Laughing relieves stress and stimulates the immune system. So get out the jokebook, watch some funny cat videos on YouTube and tickle your funny bone.
